In today’s video I talk about another one of my favorite subjects which is What You Focus On Is What You Get.
I learned this from Abraham-Hicks, but working with the Sedona Method took it even deeper.
Most of us have things we don’t want: change in relationships, bad things to happen, don’t want to get fat. So we often are focusing on not wanting something, not wanting something to happen, not wanting. And if we focus on not wanting, we get more of not wanting.
I have a really old friend who is an extraordinary healer who was going through a divorce and got focused on losing her children. What if she lost her children? Oh, my God, what if she didn’t get custody of her children? And it took you two years, but in the end, she lost custody of her children, a woman to a man. And it was totally extraordinary, but that’s what she focused on the whole time. So even those of us who are skilled at healing often fall into the trap of focusing on something we don’t want.
So I’d like you to think of something you don’t want, something that you spend a lot of time talking about, thinking about. Whatever it is, just pick something. Just notice how you feel when you think about that. Are you agitated? Do you feel tight? Just notice how you feel. Then drop into your heart and go below that and ask yourself, what is it that you really want, not what you don’t want, what is it you really want?
Just open it up, that thing that you want, that situation, that person, that experience, whatever, open to that. The way you add the Sedona Method to that is you think about something you want. Then you think about all of the thoughts that come up, feelings, sensation, sounds about how you can’t have it, won’t have it, impossible. All that stuff.
And we’ll use the Welcoming. So you welcome all that, you’re not wanting, all those limitations. Just open to them.
And is there any wanting to do anything about them, change them, fix them, make them better, stop them, stop thinking about them? Could you welcome that?
And thirdly, could you welcome any sense that this is personal? The whole thing has to do with you or who you are?
So let’s try that again. Think of something you want, but have some feelings, thoughts, and sounds that you might not get it, might not deserve it. And open to all of that response to that thing you want.
And then, is there any wanting to do anything about it, fix it, change it, make it happen? Open to that.
And thirdly, is there any sense it’s personal? It has to do with you or who you are? And usually that’s a yes. Open to that.
So you can run through that a lot of times until your resistance to whatever it is that you want goes down. But during your day, in and out, in your life, just open to what you want and focus on what you want and focus on what you have, rather than focusing on what you don’t want.
So that’s step one in how to get what you want. Focus on what it is. We’ll be back with more. Thank you.
