Happy New Year – the time of solstice which is the end of the northern hemisphere’s calendar and the beginning of the new year or January, the people’s calendar, first, starting the new year. Lots of us make New Year’s resolutions.
My New Year’s resolution for this year is to open more deeply to the truth of who I am. Which means to me understanding that I am the awareness that comes through this mind body called Reva. I am not Reva.
I am something more than Reva. It’s a way of thinking about the world, being in the world. That’s my New Year’s resolution for this year. So if you have a New Year’s resolution for this year, just open to it right now.
Just open to the emotions that go with that New Year’s resolution. And is there any resistance to that New Year’s resolution? Is there any resistance to being who you are? Could you open to any resistance you have? And could you let that resistance go?
Would you let that resistance go? When? Sometimes when we do New Year’s resolutions, we put them in negative terms and sometimes we put them in positive terms. The New Year’s resolution, like any goal, does better in positive terms that you use something you’re doing rather than something you’re not doing.
So if it’s in the form of not doing, can you turn it into something doing? And then open your heart to that doing, that goal, that experience you want to have in the coming days. And again, is there any resistance to that goal, that experience? Could you welcome the resistance? Then, could you let go of the resistance? Would you? When? And think of your New Year’s resolution again and just open to it and notice what’s there. And if there’s a so-called negative emotion, fear or anger or doubt, could you welcome that? And could you let it go? Would you let it go? When?
if it’s a joyful feeling. Could you let that go too? When I ask you to let go, it’s letting go to go higher. In other words, if you have a joyful feeling about something, allowing you to release that allows you to expand and have an even bigger possibility. So when we release whether it’s a negative emotion or a seemingly positive emotion, it’s allowing for there to be more space and create more of what it is you need that’s not limited by the mind.
So when you think of your New Year’s resolution, Just open up to the possibility that it’s already here is just a matter of releasing the resistance to it. Or/and there’s even more beyond that resolution possible, by opening to all the possibilities to meet that need. So enjoy your resolutions, have fun. Have a great new year. Thank you.
