My training and belief is that all sentient beings are energy that starts out and returns to the non-physical.
While we are in the physical, humans have at least four main bodies in order of density: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. In different cultures, they go under different names and the spiritual body usually is described with many more aspects. Each of these “bodies” are actually separate, coherent energy fields that have been distinguished by aware people for eons and more recently have begun to be measured.
All creatures that move or grow have life force and different bodies.
Specific organs and even cells have their own energy fields. Locations, water bodies, and “inanimate objects” like rocks and computers also have an energy field. Sometime this is it’s own field and sometime energy left by humans and others. Most adjectives and many nouns have a recognizable field: love, compassion, blue, staid, scream… Words are our recognizing an energy and putting a name to it. The world is filled with innumerable energy fields. If one is aware or is a child, there is a feast of information available all the time. Good mental health is being able to function while recognizing the levels of awareness that are useful to your life. You get to chose the level of awareness that you want to live on.
Energy fields can be experienced by anyone once you know where “to look on the radio dial” so to speak.
We have all had experiences of energies that were not our own, but often it takes another person to name them for us and guide us. For example, we have all had the experience of walking into a room where there has been high emotion and being hit with the feeling from what transpired. We can usually name it as anger or fear or sometimes even joy depending on the circumstances. The same thing can be done with feeling someone’s liver, a car’s piston, a stone’s place in a stonewall – really anything.
To learn how to do this for most of us requires being an apprentice, being open to what is possible, using our rational minds to put things in perspective, creating a space that supports the inquiry, lots and lots of practice, some trust, and being able to discern what is info and what is our mind trying to help. Since time and space are relative, it is possible to “feel’’ the energy from a former time and /or in a different location. Those energies are there all the time so it is a matter of identifying what you are sensing.
Early on I had to learn how to work off the body as many of my clients were abuse survivors and couldn’t be comfortably touched with energy. I learned to read the bodies and send energy from a couple feet away. I was amazed that the work was still effective and was less threatening to the client. Then I had clients that sometimes couldn’t come for a session so I started doing both long distance and in person. It still worked well. As best I can describe working from a distance, it is the same place on the energy/radio dial, but farther away/more subtle. Some folks are easier than others at a distance just as in person. Mostly, the skill seems to grow with practice.
