Policies: Liability, Confidentiality, Sessions, Emails, and Money
Unfortunately due to litigious folk, disclaimers are necessary for all websites. The good news is that by laying out my coaching policies in advance and in writing, we are saving you session time. Feel free to email me with any questions. I am assuming that you agree with the below unless you bring some point up with me directly. Thank you.
Disclaimer:
A coaching relationship is a partnership (defined as an alliance, not a legal business partnership) between the Coach, and yourself as the Client. It is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize personal and professional potential. It is designed to facilitate the creation/development of your personal, professional, or business goals and for you to develop and carry out a strategy or plan for achieving those goals.
Life coaching is not therapy or a medical treatment. It should not be construed as a prescription, a promise of benefits, claims of cures, or a guarantee of results to be achieved. Coaching is not a substitute for regular medical or psychological care. It does not treat, diagnose, cure, or advise on medical conditions. Coaching is not about disease or illness—rather, its focus is on healing and wellness.
The client is fully responsible for their well-being during coaching sessions and subsequently, including their choices and decisions. Results in a coaching or consulting relationship cannot be guaranteed because they depend on the client’s openness to being coached and their willingness to do the work.
The Sedona Method® Disclaimer:
The Sedona Method® supports mental and physical health through letting go of stress and unwanted emotions but does not treat, diagnose, cure, or advise on medical conditions. It is not a substitute for competent medical care. Please consult a qualified medical practitioner for health issues.
Confidentiality:
All information about the client or shared with the coach will remain confidential including not disclosing the client’s name without consent. The Coach-Client relationship is not considered a legally confidential relationship (like in the medical and legal professions) and thus communications are not subject to the protection of any legally recognized privilege. Phone calls to the Coach’s landline are the most secure. Using technology for communication is not always secure and therefore there are risks to confidentiality.
According to the ethics of the coaching profession, topics discussed in sessions may be anonymously and hypothetically shared with other coaching professionals for training, supervision, mentoring, evaluation, and for coach professional development and/or consultation purposes.
Emails:
I do not have a cell phone, text, nor live by my computer. Emails will be read and answered within 24 hours, usually at the beginning or end of the day. Do not depend on my getting your message and answering immediately.
Sessions – Scheduling and Format:
Session dates and times are to be requested during a session, through the website or by email (at least 48 hours in advance). The Client will receive an email confirmation. Any changes to the date and times of a session need to be requested at least 48 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting/call whenever possible. In circumstances in which the Coach may need to rearrange a session, the Client will be given at least 24 hours’ notice where possible and practical. The session time may be extended at a prorated basis rate.
The format of a session whether in person, virtual, or via telephone will be agreed upon during the initial session. In instances where a change in format of the sessions is required that differs from the original agreement, this shall be mutually agreed upon and confirmed by the Coach in writing via email.
Fees, Payment, and Refunds:
Payment of my fee for a sixty-minute session can be made through PayPal. Checks are accepted with prior agreement. Payment must be received at least 48 hours before a session except for the free 20 minute sessions.
Refunds are given when requested at least 48 hours in advance of the next booked session. Late and no-shows will still be charged for the time lost.
By application only, I have a few openings available at a sliding fee. If you are in need, please complete this form.
Gift Certificates are available and expire after six months.
In summary, a great deal of energy, time, thought and heart goes into preparing for and being present on our calls together. If you’re late for your appointment, you lose that time. If you don’t show, you’ll still be charged in full. If I have to spend a lot of time chasing money and appointment changes, I won’t be able to keep my fees low. In turn, I promise to honor our appointments, have good administration habits, and be on time as well.
Again thank you for reading and agreeing to these policies. Reva
